Stupid People doing stupid things: Government edition

A lawmaker in West Virginia ruffled a few feathers when he suggested students participating in free meal programs at school should work for their food.
West Virginia's House of Delegates voted 89-9 to pass the West Virginia Feed to Achieve Act, to ensure that no child is denied breakfast or lunch at school because of cost.

Delegate Ray Canterbury (R-Greenbrier) spoke against the bill, claiming that there is no such thing as a free lunch. “I think it would be a good idea if perhaps we had the kids work for their lunches: trash to be taken out, hallways to be swept, lawns to be mowed, make them earn it,” said Canterbury. "If they miss a lunch or they miss a meal they might not, in that class that afternoon, learn to add, they may not learn to diagram a sentence, but they'll learn a more important lesson."
The comments were met with criticism, with delegate Meshea Poore (D-Kanawha) saying, “I’m offended anybody in this body would dare say a child has to work for their meals. I can’t believe someone would say a first-grader, a second-grader … a fifth-grader has to labor before they eat. This isn’t an entitlement bill.”

4th Day of Rider's Edge Course canceled

The weather finally got us. You've seen some video updates from the first few days of my experience at the Doc's Harley Davidson Rider's Edge Course from this past weekend. Well the weather finally got us on Sunday, which of course was supposed to be the final day of the course. Turns out it's not safe to take a road course test on a motorcycle when there is snow coming down sideways. I know a bunch of wimps right? For real though probably a good thing that happened, especially for me. You see Sunday morning as I was getting ready to go we had a family emergency and I spent most of Sunday morning at the hospital. Everyone is OK and no one is hurt, but with that being said I wasn't able to go on Sunday anyway. So the final day with road test has been rescheduled for next week Monday the 22nd. That means I'll be out at Doc's again bright and early at 8AM with the road test at the end of the day. Wish me luck!

Here's a photo of the class taken by the Doc's staff on our 2nd day.

Love at Wal-Mart, really?

In a recent study published in the magazine Psychology Today, Walmart was named most frequently by study participants as the place where they had fallen in love at first sight. This study pulled the 100 most recent Craigslist missed connections add as well in 15 states, wait a minute Craigslist missed connections? at the time of this posting here's the most recent Craigslist Green Bay missed connection add:

To the tall black hair gal that drives a four door tan taurus-your hot!!Today you had tight jeans and a tank-top under your open coat!!HOT

So you can see why I would put a lot of faith in Craigslist missed connections ads.

It actually makes sense though that people would fall in love in Walmart I mean it is the most frequented place by lonely people at 2 o'clock in the morning that exists on this planet and everybody goes to Walmart hell I even saw Jermichael Finleys wife at the Westside Walmart a couple of weeks ago. Its not like she needs to save big at Walmart. So I guess that's it if you are looking for love you're looking in the wrong places if you're not looking at Walmart

In less than 2 weeks it'll be time to (legally) learn how to ride a bike, and by bike I mean motorcycle, and by motorcycle I mean a Harley f****** Davidson. Doc's Harley Davidson is were I'll be living on April 11th-14th taking the Rider's Edge Course. For years this is something I've wanted to do and now that I have 2 little kids it seems like a good time to do it. Actually my 4 years old is almost as excited as I am. She wants to ride a motorcycle with me so bad, it's cute. She also has some her future tattoos figured out and is always asking to record her singing on my microphone in my basement studio. Yup Daddy's girl to say the least.

Here's the thing though money is super tight around the Cutter household and I'm not sure how I'm going to afford a new bike yet, but it is something we'll figure out. My wife and I have friends that like to ride and we can't wait to get out with them. And I never thought I'd say this because all though this is the way I picture it.
 This is probably more realistic.
Spring is here and summer is just around the corner. Happy riding!

Oh yeah...its April fools day

So I completely forgot that it's April fools day. First I go drop off the kids at daycare then come home and eat some breakfast in reading the news I see that Apple has released something called the I play video game console, complete with video of the makers announcing it. Then, and this is what made me realize it, I see a story about m_t_v apologizing to the band Manowar for not playing enough true metal and only playing false metal.
That last story complete with a statement from the chairman of the the council of heavy metal.

Should be fun today. Happy April fools day!
