Is Aaron Rodgers Gay?

First let me say, so what if he is. If this rumor has any truth so what, he's one of the best football players ever and he's green and gold all the way.

Gossip king Perez Hilton came out with an interesting story today saying that Aaron Rodgers, the Superbowl winning and NFL MVP quarterback of our Green Bay Packers is actually Gay. The evidence? It's from this "insider" source who's claiming his now ex-boyfriend and longtime personal assistant Kevin Lanflisi outed him.
Kevin LanflisiKevin
Kevin Lanflisi
Kevin Lanflisi
Kevin Lanflisi
Kevin Lanflisi
"Aaron has attended numerous sports award shows with Kevin, always color coordinated and without any double female dates, including the ESPY’s. Kevin was also the first person Aaron embraced when the Packers won the Super-bowl in 2011. I just find it really strange that as of late there has been many bitter subliminal tweets on Kevin Lanflisi’s twitter alluding to a relationship much deeper than a friendship he had, with who I perceive to be Aaron Rodgers, because Kevin has NEVER once tweeted about having a girlfriend, just mainly about the Green Bay Packers, Aaron Rodgers, and Justin Bieber’s music and sitting front row at Bieber’s concert. There has been speculation for years here in Wisconsin that Aaron is gay."
According to this story there have also been some tweets by Kevin and some comments from the Quarterback himself regarding Kevin to show more proof. Until he comes out and says "I'm gay" these are just rumors.

On a personal note I very much support the LGBT community and their struggle for equality. If, and it's a big if, this turns out to be true then it would be a huge win for that community, esp here in this part of the country were maybe some are just not very open minded. I'll leave it at that.

Full story from Perez Hilton can be read here.

Interview: Joey Jordison

A couple of months ago I had the chance to have a conversation with one of the best drummers in metal of the last 2 decades Joey Jordison for my syndicated classic metal show Hangar 19. Since the mid 90's he has played with Slipknot. During Slipknot's numerous breaks he has played with other bands like The Murderdolls and his newest project Scar the Martyr. So when news broke this week that Joey was no longer a member of Slipknot, a band that has never replaced members, it took all of us by surprise. Even in this conversation Joey had nothing but good things to say about his now former band mates.

Here's the link to listen to or download my conversation with Joey Jordison.

A message from M. Shadows and trailer for an animated series

Avenged Sevenfold, Warner Bros. Records & Machinima teamed up for the Hail To The King animated series, which premieres Dec. 15.

FROM M. SHADOWS:
First we want to thank all of our friends that we just saw in Europe.  Hands down the best tour that we have ever had over there.  It was an honor to play for you all every night.  As we promised, we are slowly filling in summer dates so we can come play for you again.  We also have been getting quite a few requests for new countries that we haven't played yet.  We will use this summer as an opportunity to come to few new places.  Please stay tuned for that.
As for the rest of the world, we hear you,and we will be coming soon!  By now you’ve already heard announcements about Download, Graspop, Nova Rock, and Aerodome, and there will be a lot more dates announced in the coming months.  Right now though, we have decided to hangout at home until we get over to Australia for Soundwave in February.
Since we have a couple months off we wanted to update you on a couple things that we promised a while back.
First is our "Hail to the King"animated series that we did with Machinima and Jon Schnepp.  You may know Jon from his work on Metalocalypse on Adult Swim.  It's funny stuff and it was an honor to work with him.  Below is the trailer for the series which will debut Dec. 15th.  We hope it gives you something entertaining to watch over your Holiday break.  The series also plays as a backstory to our mobile game "Hail to the King: Deathbat."  We felt this was the best way to tell the story and give you all an idea about the type of game we are creating.
Check out the trailer for the “Hail to theKing” animated series here: http://youtu.be/ZeUhpV5kmBw
This brings us to the game.  Two years ago while touring in South East Asia I looked around the bus taking us from the airport to the hotel and noticed everyone was on their phones and iPads playing different types of games.  We had a discussion and decided that it would be fun to create one of our own.  The problem was that we didn't feel passionate about doing a full on typical music game.  We wanted to do something different.  Something inspired by some of our favorite games. So we came up with the idea of turning some of our songs and art work into a living, breathing, evil world.  We wanted to bring the story of the Deathbat to life and allow you to control its destiny. While the game stands on its own in terms of the story and game play, we still wanted to add in some extras for our fans.  In the game you can unlock 16 pieces of never seen before artwork from all of our albums.  There will also be 7 new Cam Rackam paintings available in the game.  We also recorded 7 new songs. Now these aren't metal songs, they are theme songs for each level and are done in an old school video game fashion with a new school twist.  There will also be reimagined versions of older songs.  Basically, we have not only packed the game with exciting gameplay, but also a lot of things for fans that might now be interested in a video game.  The trailer for the game will be released with the Machinima "Hail to the King" series on December 15th as well.  Expect a release date in early 2014 as we are in the BETA process now.  Remember, the game and series go hand in hand. The animated series tells the story "before" the game takes place.  When the series ends, the game picks up.
We hope these things keep you entertained while your hanging out at home for the Holiday Season.  Most importantly we hope you all enjoy the time with your families and we will see you on the road as soon as we can make it to you.

What happened to the one genre of music that hold's true and stands the test of time since it's initial taking over of the world in the 50's. Maybe I shouldn't ever look at the charts anymore but either no one actually likes rock music anymore (Imagine Dragons don't count) or rock fans don't actually buy music. There are only 5 bands that show up on any sales chart I look at,

Well f*** it, I'm going to keep flying the flag on RAZOR 94.7 and on Hangar 19 and I just hope there's enough of us left to keep Rock and Metal alive and well

Concert Review: Kill Devil Hill

Let me start this by saying collectively the members of Kill Devil Hill come from bands that we as metal fans have been listening to since before we knew what head-banging and devil horns actually were. As bassist Rex Brown will explain in the Hangar this upcoming weekend don't call Kill Devil Hill a supergroup though. These guys truly are a full fledged band with big plans for the future.
20131120_225222

Kill Devil started in the mind of Vinny Appice the legendary drummer from Black Sabbath and DIO fame. Vinny was working with guitarist Mark Zavon who knew lead singer Dewey Bragg. The three of them then sent some demos to bassist Rex Brown who had been the long time bassist for Pantera and the some time bassist for Down. Rex recorded some bass lines and sent it back to the other three. The rest as the say is history since Kill Devil Hill has just released their second album Revolution Rise.

(side note: about a three weeks before this show I tore a tendon in my foot that took a piece of bone with it, so I wasn't able to walk at this show.)

20131120_225254Being on crutches I knew it was going to be difficult but I was so jacked up for this show, and they didn't disappoint. After a couple opening bands the stage was set and from the very first note you knew that this band is not a one trick pony. The band sounded tight when playing songs like "Leave it All Behind" and "Strange."  Rex and Vinny looked they had been playing together for years. (There must be something with drummers named Vinny for Rex.) Both Dewey and Mark are tall guys and not as experienced on the stage and it showed. Mark's playing was fantastic but at times he seemed out of place. Dewey's vocals were spot on but a couple of times he mixed up the songs on the set list and just generally seemed awkward on stage. Now granted I'm being nitpicky but because over all they were great. There wasn't a person in this little 400 person club that wasn't impressed.
20131120_225300
The highlight of the show had to come about midway through when Vinny Appice did his drum solo. The sound guy even turned to me and said "he's doing this without double bass, that's how it's supposed to be done."  Later in the set as maybe an ode to Vinny's work with Black Sabbath they broke into the first part of "War Pigs" were Dewey basically just held the mic in front of the crowd and let them sing  it.
With two albums under their belt and some big time touring plans in 2014 Kill Devil Hill aren't going anywhere. In fact you might want to go see them live now before it's impossible to get tickets.

After the show I was able to hang with the band for a while  and they were some of the nicest guys I've ever met. Rex Brown has been on this show a couple of times before but he is one the most down to earth and humble human beings I have ever met. Those are the kind of people you want to support.

Pictures of malls in the 80's!

photographed malls across the U.S. throughout the 80's and has now put out a book of his pictures. It's an honest look at how and who we were in the decade of decadence.

but not in the way you would think. It was just for a photo shoot with sought after (and possibly insane) photographer Terry Richardson.

All of sudden there's Miley's boobs, and her, well you get the point. She also has fun with an Arizona Tea can. Maybe Miley is the one that has a big d***

This weekend's missed Connections: Octoberfest

Sometimes when you wake up on Monday morning you realize what could have been from the weekend, and sometimes it's just a missed connection. Every Monday we will take some select missed connections and post them here. Just doing my civic duty.

Lisa after Oktoberfest - m4w - 29 (Appleton)
I feel silly posting on here, but I would like to talk with you and didn't get a chance to get your phone number when your friend said you had to go right then. On the off chance you see this and want to talk let me know what bet I lost.

Can I have a bite of your corn.... - m4w (Octoberfest in Appleton)
I said "yes"......what I meant was, "Yes.....and if you want dinner and a movie to go along with it, all you have to do is ask."
Sadly....I managed to only say "Yes".

Bobbi - m4w (Appleton Oktoberfest)
It seems you had a bit much to drink yesterday and had to leave abruptly. I hope you made it home with Jericka and her mother. We hung out at University and then grabbed a drink outside in Houdini plaza. If you would like to hang out sometime, send me a message.

Two pieces of garbage from the GB school district arrested for child pornography

Actually there hasn't been an insult invented for these asshats. This letter was sent out by the Green Bay School district because two of it's employees, one who worked at Wilder and Keller Elementary schools, the other was a Lamers bus driver who had routes from Keller, were arrested along with a total of 16 people in connection with a child pornography sting this past weekend.

Here's Jason Gerhke
and the other f*** face Victor Iakamenko

Now here's the letter from the Green Bay Area School District:

Dear Families of the Green Bay Area Public School District,

We want you to know that the safety of your child is our highest and foremost priority.

We also believe that parents have a right and we have a responsibility to keep parents informed of both good and bad news. We are saddened, and quite frankly, very troubled to report to you that a staff person at Keller and Wilder Elementary schools and a bus driver from Lamers who transports our students from Keller Elementary and Lombardi Middle School were arrested this past weekend for charges as alleged by the Brown County Sheriff's Department.

The staff person has been placed on administrative leave while authorities conduct the investigation and the legal process plays out. Our district will continue to work closely and cooperate with law enforcement throughout the investigation. We will also be conducting our own internal investigation.

In addition, we have asked and understand that the bus driver has been removed from bus route 853. The parents whose children ride this driver's route will be contacted.

This is important education for all of us. With all of the safeguards the district has in place – including background checks for all new employees and volunteers, as well as rigorous policy and procedure to protect our students – we value the importance of partnering with the Brown County Sheriff's Department and other local law enforcement agencies. This also stresses the importance of parents closely monitoring the online activities of their child at home.

You have our assurance that we will be reviewing all related policies and procedures to determine if there are any additional safeguards that we can put into place to improve our current practices.

In addition, you can help by discussing with your child the importance of Internet-safety and by closely monitoring your child's online activity. For helpful online safety tips from the Wisconsin Department of Justice, please visit the following link: http://www.doj.state.wi.us/dci/icac/parents

If you have questions or concerns regarding this situation, please contact your school principal so any concerns can be immediately addressed.

Again, we want to reassure you that your child's safety is our highest priority.

Sincerely,

Superintendent Dr. Michelle Langenfeld

These schools have a tough road, and the blame doesn't fall on them, but as a parent I'm disgusted. How anyone in this world could do that, or get off on watching kids do that is making my blood boil just typing it. I pray that anyone involved in things like this get what's coming to them.

Machine Head frontman makes top 10 list about Avenged Sevenfold

After Avenged Sevenfold put out their new album "Hail To The King" the talk has turned in the rock community to the fact that the record at points rip off bands like Metallica, Guns N' Roses, and Megadeth. Then again hasn't that always been the talk about Avenged Sevenfold? It's actually one of the reasons I enjoy them so much. At any rate Machine Head frontman Robert Flynn has put out a top ten list of jokes regarding the county's number one album. Here is his original post:

THE GENERAL JOURNALS: DIARY OF A FRONTMAN... AND OTHER RAMBLINGS

-----------------
AVENGED SEVENFOLD

Congratulations to Avenged Sevenfold on their latest "covers album" coming in at #1, who knew that re-recording Metallica, Guns N Roses, and Megadeth songs could be such a worldwide hit!!?? Ba-dap Psssssss!!

I'm on fire!!

In case you've been living under a rock, Avenged came in at #1 in multiple countries throughout the world. I'm happy for them. Good band. And while I like the new record, and really dug the last record "Nightmare", hopefully we're all coming down from our post-orgasmic #1-album-bliss, because it's time to call a spade a spade!! It's time to poke a little fun at A7X, cause there's some blatant jackery goin' on there wiggas!!

So here are my top 10 jokes about the new Avenged Sevenfold record:

10) Avenged Sevenfold - "Now with even MORE Metallica"

9) Avenged Sevenfold to change name to "Sad But Two"

Number of "spurting penises" drawn on Avenged logos suddenly skyrockets

7) Eyeliner sales skyrocket as thousands of heartbroken goth girls realize "Hail To The King" is actually "that ugly AC/DC bands song 'Thunderstruck'"

6) After hearing "Heretic", Dave Mustaine flips out, blames Obama, Metallica and UFO's for the A7X stealing "Symphony Of Destruction".

5) After seeing how much success the band Bush had stealing other band names for song titles, A7X decided to steal "In Flames" for latest chorus. Future chorus lyrics include "Tr-vi-um" and "Kill-switch En-gage"

4) Upon hearing latest album, Lars Ulrich goes all gangsta, breaks bottle of Dom Perignon on M. Shadows head, while his 11ft girlfriend put Shadows in headlock, as he screams in Shadows face, "You're gonna rip off St. Anger next right, HUH? You're gonna rip off St Anger NEXT RIGHT? HUH, HUH, HUH!!"

3) "Black album" sales skyrocket as fans realise where new songs came from.

2) After hearing Avenged's Guns N Roses cover "Doing Time", Axl actually calls Slash, says, "Dude, What The Fuck?!"

1) And the #1 joke about the new Avenged Sevenfold album: Avenged Sevenfold release statement that they're NOT ripping off Metallica, announce side project with Lou Reed.

BOOM!

Masked Musicians, unmasked!

Loudwire just put up one of the coolest lists I've seen in awhile, and let's be honest I love lists. I know that's very nerdy of me, but I can't help it.

From Buckethead and Corey Taylor to the members of Kiss. Bands have been wearing masks and make up for as long as there's been Rock n' Roll and it's always kind of fun to see what they look like in real life. Just wait till you see Oderus Urungus from GWAR. Click the pic to see

Dancing with the who?

That's what Dancing With The Stars should be renamed. I don't get this show, never have. In fact the only time I ever watched it with any interest was with my 72 year old Mom and because legendary Packer Donald Driver was on his way to winning it.

Here are your "Stars"
-That black R & B singer who had a kind of hit
-Bill Nye The Science Guy
-The hot jock chick from Saved By The Bell / stripper in a horrible movie
-The son of Ozzy Osbourne
-Who?
-"The Big Girl with the Big Voice"
-One of the sluts from Jersey Shore

Why do shows like this continue to be so popular? Thankfully Sons of Anarchy returns on Sept. 10th. Now that's a show I can relate to!

Crazy Bitch indeed

I'm all about the seedy side of life. Having some fun, riding a Harley, having a drink, and getting dirty, but in the right setting. No matter how hard I think about it a wedding with family there may not be the right setting. At least not the ceremony. Reception? Get naked. Who cares it's your party. Again though if family members with young kids, or Grandma is sitting in the front row at the wedding? Walking down the aisle singing "Crazy Bitch" by Buckcherry with swear words and all, plus dancing like a whore may not be the right place for that.

Stupid is as Stupid Does

I was looking at my timeline on Facebook this morning and saw a friend of mine had been woken up by sirens and flashing lights in his neighborhood at 1:45AM. Well of course I then wanted to look into it and here is what I found.

The first story is not the one I was looking for but seemed equally if not more stupid. This from WFRV:
ASHWAUBENON, Wisc. (WFRV) A local fugitive was taken into custody after fleeing from cops.

Justin Grunwald, a 21-year-old from Ashwaubenon, had felony warrants out for his arrest.
He was also wanted by police after failing to returning to jail while on work release.

Ashwaubenon Police and the Brown County Sheriff's Department went to the
1100 block of Cormier Road shortly after 5:30pm Monday in an attempt to locate Grunwald.

Grunwald fled on foot.

A perimeter was set up and  the K9 unit was called in.

Grunwald was seen entering his apartment. He was eventually taken into
custody at 10:45pm.

After being treated at a local hospital for dog bites from the K9,
Grunwald was booked into the Brown County Jail.
So let me get this straight, this guy flees the cops and then a few hours later goes back to his apartment? You sure are a smart fellow.

OK story number 2 and I believe this is the one I was originally looking for. Again from WFRV:
GREEN BAY, Wisc. (WFRV) An 18-year-old man is under arrest after a stabbing
on Green Bay's west side.

Police were dispatched to the 500 block of School Place just after 10:15pm Monday.
At the scene, they found a 16-year-old boy with a stab wound to the back.

The boy was taken to a local hospital to be treated.

Police learned the stabbing actually took place near the intersection of Howard Street
and South Chestnut Avenue. The area was taped off while police investigated.

Information on the suspect led investigators to the 1200 block of Western Avenue,
where an 18-year-old man was taken into custody. He is now booked into the Brown County Jail.

Police are requesting charges of physical abuse of a child and recklessly endangering safety.
It looks like the Brown County Jail is a little brighter today with two class A geniuses have graced it with their presence. As the wise man Forrest Gump's mama used to say "Stupid is as Stupid Does."

Mustaine still can't beat Metallica's Black Album

This is from Loudwire. I'd rewrite it and put in my own words but they have already done such a great job.

Here’s some news that may or may not surprise you. Since Megadeth‘s released Super Collider, two months ago, album sales have been somewhat disappointing. In fact, ‘Super Collider’ was outsold this week by Metallica‘s ‘Black Album,’ which is 22 years old.
Metallica's self-titled Black Album is not only one of metal’s most successful albums, it’s the highest selling record of the last 22 years, period. With approximately 16 million copies of the ‘Black Album’ sold, the full-length classic is the most popular album of the Soundscan era, which began in 1991. As pointed out by Metal Injection, the Black Album routinely sells around 1500 copies each week, and as Megadeth’s Super Collider has dropped in sales, the 2013 disc sold less copies than the Black Album did this week.

Megadeth’s Super Collider has been panned by both critics and fans, although there are many who stand behind the latest Megadeth release. Super Collider has sold just over 60,000 copies since it dropped early in June — 1,713 of which were scanned this week. How many copies did the ‘Black Album’ sell this week? The official count is 1,737. As you can see, Metallica’s 22-year-old Black Album charted higher than Megadeth’s two-month-old Super Collider.

Megadeth’s 2011 full-length, TH1RT3EN, debuted at No. 11 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, selling 42,000 copies its first week. The album has since sold around 120,000 in the U.S. as of December 2012. Although Super Collider debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard 200 chart, only 29,000 copies were scanned its first week.
I have one word for Dave Mustaine, ouch!

A Review of the Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival

We sent Patrick Delooze to Atlanta on July 30th to the Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival featuring Rob Zombie, Five Finger Death Punch, Mastodon, Machine Head, and a ton more heavy bands. Pat was nice enough to take some pics and write up a review. Check it out

Mayhem Fest 2013 Atlanta

Blood, Sweat, Mud and METAL!!!!!!!!!  Those 4 words right there sum up Mayhem Fest in Atlanta this year.  From the Metal Mulisha jump show all the way to the main stage to see 5FDP and Rob Zombie, start to finish this festival was flat out Mayhem!!! Jumping between the Jagermeister stage and the Musicians Institute stage, dodging mosh pit after mosh pit band after band got you more and more stoked for the main stage.

The opportunity to meet John 5 and Piggy D at Rob Zombies merc tent and talk to them for a few minuets was a pretty awesome experience.  Later that day, I would find myself at that very spot again waiting in line to head backstage to meet Mr Zombie himself.  Autograph signing and photo ops with him and the rest of the band was pretty cool of the station and the record company to set that up.  Talk about being lost for words meeting a icon musician, and film director. Granted you were 1 of like 75 there to shake hands and get a picture and autograph quick was a hell of an experience.

Shortly after that, MAIN STAGE MADNESS!!!!!!  Amon Amarth kicked it off with some kick ass Viking Metal!!!!!!!  Talk about starting it off right!!  If youre a fan of avatar, like I am, then you’ll defiantly love Amon Amarth.  Mastodon was up after that and keep you on youre feet and your head banging.  Then 5FDP came out and blew the lid off the place.
When Ivan came out waving the american flag and the whole crowd on their feet screaming USA…USA…USA he brought out 5 local soldiers and told the audience about the last time they played a USO show overseas, and about how he received a recently deceased soldiers dog tags and when his fellow soldiers recovered his personal property they came across his ipod stuck on 5FDP, and how they as a band are thankful for the actions of the service men and women of this great country.  As a veteran of Iraq, it sent chills down my spine, and as he told the story, I tried to hold back the tears of my time served over there.  As death punch ended and the chants of Zombie….Zombie…Zombie over and over again I could feel that the show was just getting started!!!  Zombie came out and just blew your mind!!!!!.  From bringing a young kid out of the crowd onstage to the strange mechanical devices he rode out onstage with just you didn’t want to blink because you were too afraid youd miss something.    Talk about a stage show, running through the crowd, fire blasting from the stage, giant radios exploding just left you begging for more, just hoping the show would last longer and longer.  But as they say, all good things must come to an end, it does.  As the blasts of fire end and the final confetti falls to the floor, and as the numerous clouds of smoke from all the joints being passed around clears, we made our way out of there.  I think I still have a contact buzz as Im writing this right now!! By far it was an experience I will never forget and I don’t think will ever be topped!!!!!  Now, where the hell did I put the funyuns and brownies………..

Ranker managed to post 50 women that are currently in prison

...and they're kinda hot!

This is from the start of the list on Ranker

These are real quotes and these are real women in prison who can be found on Meet-an-inmate.com. The hottest women in prison include a wide variety of young women who, for whatever reason, found themselves on the wrong side of the law and, ultimately, behind bars. We all hear the stories of famous celebrities being locked up (we're looking at you, Lindsay Lohan), but Hollywood hotties aren't the only beautiful women who are locked up: Lovely ladies from all over the country are currently imprisoned. Sadly, their beauty is rarely seen outside prison walls, but now, with the help of this list, you too can gaze upon their lovely countenance. I've listed some of the most smoking hot beauties in prison here, so feel free to vote for your personal favorites.
Some of the hot women in prison on this list are just looking for pen pals. Doing time is no picnic, but these gorgeous prisoners are hoping to pass the hours away corresponding with friends on the outside. Other hot female inmates might be interested in something more -- possibly true love. Some mention that they don't have time to play games in love, but really, if you think about it, they've got nothing but time.
Many of these women are incarcerated for very, very serious crimes, including murder, so keep that in mind. Some mention that they are working to better themselves while behind bars. Hopefully that happens. As one inmate puts it, "Even the best of people make mistakes right?"
A surprising number of hot inmates on this list say they're just looking for a good, honest person to spend time with, and some even mention they'd relocate for that person, if things worked out. Others simply want a penpal -- nothing more.

I love Making Fun of Fred Durst

and apparently so does Al Jourgensen from Ministry. Al just released a book called Ministry: The Lost Gospels according to Al Jourgensen in which he tells more insane stories than even an Ozzy book could tell. I'm going to be talking to Al about the book for my classic metal show and I can't wait to get into some of the details, but in talking with Loudwire he told a great Fred Durst story.
The Limp-dickster motherf—er, whatever his name is. I got him naked and in a cowboy hat [in a recording studio]! I’m showing him, ‘Look, you want my sound? This is my sound. This is what I use.’ And he wouldn’t believe it because just by hitting the magic button on the harmonizer that it wouldn’t make him sound exactly like me. He was that naïve. I’m like, ‘Well, try the cowboy hat.’ So I gave him my cowboy hat. . . and it still sounded like s–t. So I go, ‘Why don’t you try and get naked? That’s how I sing.’ I was just bulls–tting him. So he goes out and does that, and is thoroughly embarrassed, again. And then he just left. I got paid to just humiliate him for three songs. It was awesome.
Awesome indeed. To buy the book from Amazon click here

And it's no wonder why I wasn't the popular kid, and let's be honest the only reason I got laid is because I played guitar.

Look at this ugly kid:

Metallica post full Kill 'em All Set and a couple vids

I'm still kind of pissed at myself that I didn't try harder to go to the 2nd installment of Metallica's Orion Music + More fest June 8 and 9 in Detroit. At least Metallica puts cool sets like this on livemetallica.com so us idiots who didn't go can enjoy it, or for those that were there can enjoy it all over again.

The set goes like this. On Saturday afternoon James Hetfield comes on one of the side stages to introduce a unheard of band called Deehan. James goes through the motions of introducing the made up band when all of a sudden Lars Ulrich hops on stage and starts playing the intro to Hit The Lights, the first song from their 1983 debut Kill 'em All. Then Kirk Hammet and Robert Trujillo walk on stage and James is given his classic Gibson Explorer guitar. They then proceed to play that album in it's entirety.

Here's video from Metallica's website of "Hit The Lights" and "Phantom Lord"

Today is the National Day of Slayer

I believe this may have started on June 6, 2006 or 6/6/6 but I can not confirm that. Either way today June 6th is the annual Day of Slayer. This is according to the website National Day of Slayer and the official press release

After the passing of Slayer guitarist Jeff Hanneman, the directors of theInternational Day of Slayer have announced a change in the celebration status of this year's edition, saying that"the world's first heavy metal holiday" is now becoming a yearly celebration.
Started in 2006 as the National Day of Prayer spoof, the first International Day of Slayer was celebrated on June 6 2006 (6/6/06), and with this year's edition being a "somber one," it demands the maximum level of engagement from each and every fan around the globe.
UG plus: remove banne"We at IDoS ask you to again stand up in the name of Slayer, in the name of metal, and in the name of Jeff Hanneman, and remind the rest of the planet that we are here, and we will not be going away anytime soon," said the holiday's CEO Jim Tate viaofficial website. "Good music is heroic and ultimately immortal, and now more than ever, the music of Slayer is xactly that."
Tate continued to praise the impact Slayer had on the life of their fans, saying, "They created the battle hymns that so many of us have used to navigate our lives, ones we will continue to rely upon to as the days ahead grow ever darker.

"We cannot let these works fade with time. It is sometimes hard to remember that Slayer is comprised of mortal men like ourselves, but with the proper dedication and stewardship, their works can last a thousand years and join the ranks of masters like Beethoven and Wagner. This is what we must strive for by insisting on bands like Slayer for us and future generations."
Finally, Tate summed it all up with a brief conclusion, saying, "Don't go to work, listen to Slayer!"
In case you are not sure what to do on June 6, you can find the instructions listed on the IDoS official website below. As you can see, you can participate in some of the more standard activities, or even take things to a "problematic level." Also, the use of headphones is strictly forbidden.
"National holidays in America aren't just about celebrating; they're about forcing it upon non-participants," reads the official announcement.
The International Day of Slayer website exhorts users to:
  • Listen to Slayer at full blast in your car.
  • Listen to Slayer at full blast in your home.
  • Listen to Slayer at full blast at your place of employment.
  • Listen to Slayer at full blast in any public place you prefer.Taking that participation to a problematic level:
  • Stage a "Slay-out." Don't go to work. Listen to Slayer.
  • Have a huge block party that clogs up a street in your neighborhood. Blast Slayer albums all evening. Get police cruisers and helicopters on the scene. Finish with a full-scale riot.
  • Spray paint Slayer logos on churches, synagogues, or cemeteries.
  • Play Slayer covers with your own band (since 99% of your riffs are stolen from Slayer anyway).
  • Kill the neighbor's dog and blame it on Slayer.

  • With that being said..."RAIN IN BLOOOOOODDDDDD"
